You may not need an entirely new career.

You may need another lens.

A doula who understands more about the transition into parenthood.

A sleep professional who can recognize when the conversation has moved beyond sleep.

An educator who understands the family behind the student.

A nurse who knows how to ask a different question.

A child-focused professional who understands that behavior is communication.

A coach who wants to work more confidently with parents and families.

Professional development doesn't always mean leaving behind everything you've already built.

Sometimes it's about expanding what you can see.

Because when you work with children or families long enough, you quickly discover that very few things exist in isolation.

Sleep affects behavior.

Stress affects parenting.

Relationships affect regulation.

Development affects expectations.

A parent's own experiences can affect how they respond to their child.

And what looks like one problem on the surface can have an entirely different story underneath it.

That's why we believe good family professionals should never stop becoming curious.

Not because you need another collection of letters after your name.

Because the more you understand, the better questions you learn to ask.

A parent coach isn't there to hand a parent a script and say, “Do this.”

And they're certainly not there to decide who is doing parenting “right.”

Good parent coaching is much more nuanced than that.

It means knowing how to listen beyond the immediate problem.

It means asking better questions.

It means recognizing the difference between a parent who needs information and a parent who already knows what to do but is struggling to put it into practice.

It means looking beyond a child's behavior and becoming curious about what may be happening underneath it.

And sometimes, it means helping a parent recognize that the solution isn't another parenting technique at all.

At Modern Parenthood Institute, we teach parent coaching through a simple belief:

Authority without fear.

Parents can lead without intimidating.

Children can be heard without running the household.

Boundaries can exist alongside connection.

And professionals can support families without positioning themselves as the person with all the answers.

That distinction matters.

Because parent coaching isn't about creating perfect parents.

It's about helping real families navigate real life with greater understanding, confidence, and connection.

September always feels like a return.

Back to school. Back to schedules. Back to routines. Back to figuring out who needs to be where, what needs to get done, and somehow remembering all the things we swore we wouldn't forget this year.

And while so much of September focuses on children heading back to learning, we think there's something worth saying to the adults who support them:

You get to keep learning, too.

You get to become better at the work you already do.

You get to ask new questions.

You get to realize that something you believed about children, parenting, behavior, or family life five years ago may look different today.

Because working with families isn't about having all the answers.

It's about being willing to keep learning how to listen better, understand more deeply, and support families without fear, shame, or judgment.

That's the kind of learning we're interested in at Modern Parenthood Institute.

So as everyone settles back into routine this September, we're curious:

☀️Hello June
Summer invites a different rhythm, slower, more spacious, more present.
These pauses often create clarity around what families truly need.

Calling all doulas, newborn care specialists, sleep consultants, nannies, parent coaches, postpartum professionals, lactation professionals, and those supporting modern families…

We are currently in the early planning stages of something I’m incredibly excited about — a two-day virtual professional conference this October through Modern Parenthood Institute for those supporting modern families.

And I want to build this intentionally.

Before speakers and topics are finalized, We'd genuinely love your input.

If you were attending a professional conference in this space…

✨ What topics would feel like a MUST for you?
✨ What conversations do you wish were happening more?
✨ What would make you think:

“I absolutely want to be in that room.”

Some topics already being explored include:

✨ Nervous system & child development
✨ Sleep, regulation & realistic expectations
✨ Ethics, scope & professional boundaries
✨ Infant development & early movement
✨ Postpartum realities & emotional wellbeing
✨ Business, sustainability & avoiding burnout in this work
✨ Collaboration between pediatric/clinical and in-home professionals
✨ Family dynamics, blended families, neurodiversity, feeding, behavior & more

No idea is too big, too niche, or too outside the box — We're listening 👇

Drop your thoughts below. I’d truly love to hear what would make this a conference you wouldn’t want to miss.

One of the greatest shifts happening in family support right now?

We are moving away from:
❌ “What is wrong with this child?”
And moving toward:
✅ “What might this child — or family — be communicating?”

Understanding nervous system regulation changes everything.

Why? Because behind resistance, tantrums, sleep struggles, overwhelm, or emotional reactivity… there is often a nervous system asking for support.

As parenting professionals, our role is not to “fix.”
It is to understand. Guide. Support. Hold space. Educate.
Families deserve professionals who see the whole picture.

Save this post for later if you work with families 🧡

The parenting industry is changing — and honestly, it needs to.

Modern families are navigating a world that looks very different than it did even ten years ago.

Overstimulation. Information overload. Mental load. Sleep deprivation. Emotional burnout. Relationship stress. Nervous system overwhelm.

Families are not simply looking for someone who “knows babies.”
They are looking for professionals who can hold space, understand child development, support emotional well-being, communicate thoughtfully, and meet families with compassion and confidence.

At Modern Parenthood Institute, we believe the future of family support is relationship-centered, evidence-informed, and deeply human.

Because modern families deserve more than quick fixes. They deserve thoughtful support.

🧡 If you are in this field — or feeling called to it — what do you think modern families need most right now?

One of the biggest misconceptions about working with families is that support has to come from having all the answers.

In reality, some of the most impactful support comes from understanding how to help families feel more clear, more steady, and more confident in what they are already navigating.

This is the foundation of the work we teach inside Modern Parenthood Institute.

Through our Integrative Parent Coach and Pediatric Sleep Practitioner programs, we focus on helping students develop a deeper understanding of:

🧡family dynamics
🧡behavior and regulation
🧡sleep and daily rhythms
🧡communication and practical support strategies

Not through rigid scripts or one-size-fits-all methods,
but through education that helps you think critically, observe clearly, and support families in a way that feels grounded and applicable in real life.

If you’ve been feeling pulled toward meaningful work in this field, this may be a good time to explore it further.

Through May 15, we’re offering 30% off both programs using the code:
SPRING30

Whether you’re looking to begin a new path or deepen the work you’re already doing, we’d love to welcome you inside MPI.

Feel free to reach out with questions or message us for program details.
