If you received a PM re: "grant money" or another scam. It was not from your FB friend.

This scam is running rampid on messenger. To help:

1) open the PM from Messenger,
2) click the user's profile pic then select "Privacy & Support,"
3) pick "report,"
4) pick "Pretending to be someone else,"
5) pick "A friend,"
6) enter user's name then select it
7) click "done."

FB will not lock yours or the other user's account by reporting spam PMs.

Best practice: Change your social media passwords periodically!
