Everyone meet Rishi Kachrani, the 1st year Medical Affairs Fellow at Deciphera!
Hometown: Nashua, NH
Pharmacy School: University of Rhode Island
If you want to strike up a conversation with me, ask me about:
The stock market. I have been interested in the stock market since high school…before it was cool. Over the past two years, I have taken classes and started getting into options trading.
On the weekends I love to: Eat good food! I really enjoy trying out new recipes with fresh vegetables from my garden and exploring local eateries/breweries.
Why did you choose your functional area?
I really enjoy Medical Affairs because it truly allows me to utilize aspects I enjoy from traditional pharmacy and apply a clinical mindset to pharmaceutical industry.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of completing pharmacy school and having the opportunity to work in a meaningful field. Pharmacy school was a major chapter in my life, and I’m really excited to see all of the opportunities a PharmD will afford me.
What is something important or interesting you’ve learned through Fellowship?
I’ve come to truly appreciate how valuable transferable skills are. Even skills you may not realize you have developed like creating an agenda or sending meeting minutes can be very valuable in the workplace.
What is something you’re looking forward to during your Fellowship?
I am really excited to see Deciphera’s pipeline grow and develop - looking forward to taking on more responsibilities while working with novel therapies.

What do you love about your fellowship?
I love the flexibility of my fellowship. Being at a small company, there are more opportunities to participate in projects and gain experience outside of my functional area. I also love the inclusiveness and culture of my company. Being surrounded by like-minded and passionate people, all with the ultimate goal of improving patient lives, is the best work environment I could ask for!
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
The accomplishment I’m most proud of is obtaining this Fellowship. It took constant determination, perseverance, and a lot of hard work.
What is something important or interesting you’ve learned through Fellowship?
Something interesting I’ve learned through Fellowship so far is that there are extensive processes, involving several functional areas, to create approved branded and non-branded promotional materials
What is something you’re most excited for or looking forward to?
I’m excited about precepting and teaching students
