Office Hours for Support are every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Come with your questions and get individual support for SESPs with active cases. A support specialist will call you at the time you select and at the number you provide. Please have all case information/documents/notes handy. When you select the time, a box will open up for you to list specific questions or share any other information (without specifying the student name or district - we look that up). Special Education Decision Makers, known as Special Education Surrogate Parents (SESPs) serve as appointed decision makers that have the legal authority of a parent or legal guardian to attend and participate in special education team meetings, approve or reject Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and if necessary, file complaints or appeals. During this Orientation Training you will learn about the role of an SESP, eligible students, the IEP and transition planning.
