This is the model we've been building and refining across six states. Proximity-based, Montessori-inspired, flexible childcare that lives where parents already work.

The top 3 qualities we look for in founders...

is all about empowering coworking and childcare founders to change culture. Many founders are solopreneurs facing substantial hurdles prior to opening. We want more coworking and childcare spaces to open, grow, and become a sustainable part of the childcare ecosystem. Hopscotch often steps in to support founders on their journey and add a much needed set of hands to spread the workload. *PS: we also have a proven playbook for incorporating childcare in a way that's profitable right off the bat.

In our experience, what makes a great coworking and childcare founder?

1. Resilience - standing firm in the face of set backs.
2. Longevity - understanding this industry is going to take a while to change and is it in for the long haul.
3. Skill-set - what you bring to the table matters. Most founders we work with have previously started businesses and are experienced and gifted generalists, able to wear many hats and pivot like champs.

👩‍💼 59% of small business owners affirm that barriers to childcare access are preventing them from growing their businesses (INC).

👨🏽‍💼25% of founders say they've had to shutter their businesses entirely and return to the broader workforce due to childcare issues (INC).

🧑🏻‍💼 39% of founders say they've missed out on business opportunities due to childcare issues.

These are just a few (not so) small reasons coworking and childcare spaces are a valuable asset to our childcare system. Coworking and childcare spaces support entrepreneurs, small businesses, and the economy.

What a YEAR! As we bid farewell to our physical space in West Roxbury, we're opening the door to boundless opportunities for Coworking and Playspaces across the country.

Over the past year, we have coached, advised, and supported founders looking to make a difference in their community by opening coworking and play spaces. It has been a whirlwind, and we are shocked, honored, and energized by the positive responses and inquiries we've received from around the US.

⭐️ BUSINESS UPDATE FROM HOPSCOTCH LABS ⭐️

TLDR: We are moving!

If you've emailed us about work and play recently you probably got a response saying "We've temporarily paused our Work and Play sessions because we are in the middle of moving". Thank you to everyone who has reached out, and we can't wait to see you again soon.

To close out our time in our West Roxbury location - we are having a cool-down party! $25 open play + you can take home a toy from our space. It's a win-win for everyone!
