TONIGHT! Come to Cope for Back to School Night this evening at 6:00pm!

🚨Back to School night is tomorrow at CMS!!

Come meet the teachers and get an overview of classroom expectations and learning. Make sure to bring a copy of your student's schedule so that you know the path to follow. We will start with homeroom and cycle through each class for a short rotation that mimics your student's daily schedule.

Don't forget to sign up to be part of the PTO team. We can't do what we do, without all the continued support from our parents!

🚨 COUGAR CROSS COUNTRY TRYOUTS — IMPORTANT INFO! 🐾🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Tryouts are THIS WEEK, and there are a few important things athletes and parents need to know!

📋 PERMISSION FORMS ARE DUE TUESDAY BY 2:30 PM!
Extra copies are available at the front office.

Students MUST turn in BOTH:
✅ Completed 2026–2027 Athletic Permission Form
✅ Signed Cross Country Tryout Information & Team Expectations Form

📌 Both forms must be submitted to Coach Woodall by 2:30 PM Tuesday, August 18. Students who have not turned in both forms will not be permitted to participate in tryouts.

🏃 TRYOUT SCHEDULE
• Tuesday, August 18: 2:30–4:00 PM
• Wednesday, August 19: 2:30–4:30 PM
• Thursday, August 20: 2:30–4:30 PM

Athletes should plan to attend all three sessions unless prior arrangements have been made with the coaching staff.

• Athletic shorts
• T-shirt
• Athletic shoes
• Water bottle

Parents/Guardians: Please make sure your athlete has BOTH required forms turned in by 2:30 Tuesday so they are eligible to participate.

POWER OF PRESENCE: CMS wants all students at school each and every day--including check ins and check outs! If you are here at school, you can learn! We are rewarding your presence because it is IMPORTANT!!!

What started as a simple idea to refresh a faded mural became something much more meaningful! We saw an opportunity to create a space that reflects not only our pride in Cope Middle, but also the heart of our community. With our strong connection to Barksdale Air Force Base and the many military-connected students we serve, the new mural on the Hero Wall was a natural extension of our Heroes Garden, planted in 2023. Together, they tell a story of school pride, community, and gratitude for those who serve.

Special thanks and recognition to the Artistic Shark, Chris Opp, for bringing this idea to life.
