This summer, we have been working on demonstrating a semi-sub-surface drip irrigation system for rice production. Dropping pressure from 80+ psi to 15 psi can be tricky and blowouts can happen. A proper irrigation design can help to minimize these issues.

The National Science Foundation's Higher Education Research and Development Survey has ranked LSU, with the LSU AgCenter, among the top 15 institutions nationwide for research expenditures in the field of agricultural sciences.
The AgCenter is using these research dollars to better Louisiana. Developments in crop varieties have bolstered Louisiana’s sugarcane industry, generating an annual economic impact of $960 million, and introduced climate-resilient rice to strengthen the state's $550 million rice industry.
