This was 4 years ago today, a momentous occasion - four years since our one-year anniversary at the Ruston location. From November 2016 to October 2024, we transformed our humble kiosk in the BX at Barksdale AFB into two thriving brick-and-mortar stores. Along the way, we encountered incredible individuals, talented musicians, and aspiring artists who share our passion for music. Our stores became a haven where strangers became friends and some even became family - a testament to the power of connection and community. I'm eternally grateful to my sister for her invaluable support at our Bossier Location and to the numerous individuals who contributed to our success in Ruston. Although we had to bid farewell to our beloved stores due to exhaustion and the challenges of caring for John during his Covid recovery, we've embarked on a new journey in Tennessee. Our hearts remain filled with cherished memories of J and W Music, Shreveport/Bossier, and Ruston. The countless music shows we attended and the amazing people we met along the way will forever be etched in our hearts. We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who helped us achieve our dreams and create these unforgettable experiences.

Good morning. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and concern regarding our well-being and would like to provide a brief update. Following the closure of our store in Bossier Mall in October 2024, we embarked on an exciting new chapter in Chattanooga, Tennessee, filled with promise and possibility. We successfully sold our residence in Bossier and completed the purchase of our new home in December, marking a significant milestone in our journey. The past three months have been a transformative and thrilling experience, filled with growth and learning. We do not plan to open another store in this location; however, John has established connections with local music business owners, paving the way for new opportunities and experiences. I have returned to full-time employment, while John will focus on his health, YouTube channel and page updates, in which this will continue to inspire and uplift him. Despite the challenges posed by Long Covid, John's resilience and determination are a shining testament to the human spirit and its capacity for hope and perseverance.
Lisa is still there in Bossier and if anyone ever gets a chance, stop by JCPenny photo and tell her hello! She was definitely the person of J&W the last 3 years, We will Always be grateful to all her help and support!
We eagerly anticipate visiting the Shreveport/Bossier/Ruston area soon, and although we are settling in Tennessee, Louisiana will forever be our home, a place where our hearts will always remain, filled with cherished memories and friendships forged in love and kindness. We are deeply thankful for the years of unwavering support and friendship, a blessing that we will always treasure.

Today is the last day of our little dream John and I started back in Nov 2016. We started as a little kiosk only open a few weekends a month in side the BX at Barksdale AFB, then we got our own store inside the BX, got bigger and moved off base to South Bossier and then on to Pierre Bossier Mall where we have been since 2019. Opened a 2nd location in 2020 for 2 years in Ruston, La. After John got sick we went back to the one store. It’s been an interesting run for sure.
We have met the most incredible people that most will now forever be family. Others have moved on but still stay in touch. When my sister Lisa and I were struggling to keep up the two stores while John was in the hospital, so many stepped up to help us, We are forever thankful! The prayers, phone calls, text, showing up in store to help, last minute being on call to help us out! Thank you!
To the music shows we have attended and the ones we have put on in our local area, to open mic nights, from Shreveport/Bossier City, to Ruston and all the surrounding areas, we have met the most amazing people! We will never be able to THANK YOU enough for the support and help given to us in these last 9 years!
Special Thanks to my sister Lisa for the last 4 years stepping up and helping us out! She has been the front person of J and W music Bossier! We couldn’t have done it without you! 🎶
John and I are looking forward to the next chapter in our lives as we Move on to Chattanooga, Tennessee. Who knows, there maybe another J and W Music in the future. Once again, thank you everyone for the love and support yall have given us these past 9 years!
