Join on Sunday, June 14th at 12:30 PM for Lunch & Learn: OUT OF THE STORM, PEGGY MARTIN WAS BORN 🌹🌹🌹

Peggy Martin will tell the story of her rose, once anonymous, now famous, later named 'Peggy Martin', which has also come to be known as “the Katrina rose.” Both Peggy and her rose were survivors of one of America’s most catastrophic storms just over 20 years ago; Peggy’s dramatic and poignant story continues to attract attention from media both regional and national, and she tells her story well.

On the first day of June, 2026, the Louisiana Legislature officially designated the 'Peggy Martin' rose as the Official State Rose of Louisiana through the passage of Senate Concurrent Resolution 55. We congratulate our friend Peggy Martin on this well-deserved honor.
