Mrs. Perry teaches 5th grade ELA and Social Studies. This is her 2nd year at SPE. Mrs. Perry was nominated by a colleague because of her willingness to help others. Mrs. Barefield teaches 3rd grade math and science. She was nominated by her colleague for going above and beyond to create a fun, loving, and supportive environment for her students. Congratulations, Mrs. Barefield for being selected as Staff Member of the Week.
Stockwell Place Elementary students participated in the American Heart Association, Kids Heart Challenge. We exceeded the goal that was set! Pictured are the top 3 students that raised the most funds. Way to go, Stallions!

Happy Mardi Gras, y’all from Stockwell Place!!
Congratulation to Mrs. Sonya Theodos for being selected as Support Person of the Year. Thank you for going above and beyond for our students and staff.
2nd grade Glue Engineers have been working hard to perfect a glue recipe! They’ve talked about properties of materials, designed, tested, researched, and planned new recipes to test. The final recipe was used to create special Valentine’s Day gifts for their families!
Mrs. Steadman has been teaching for 25 years. She currently teaches 5th grade math and science. A colleague nominated Mrs. Steadman for Staff Member of the Week because of her dedication to teaching. There is never a moment when Mrs. Steadman is not teaching. Stockwell Place has the highest 5th grade math scores in the parish and Mrs. Steadman’s dedication is a contributing factor.

It was an exciting day at SPE as we have 2 new editions to our playground, Gaga Ball pits. Students will be learning how to play this week during PE. Students will be able to play Gaga Ball during PE, recess, and at Field Day!!
Thank you to the BPSB Maintenance department for installing them for our students.
The SPE Archery Team participated in the State 3D (animal) Archery Tournament in Alexandria this weekend and THEY SHOWED UP! Stockwell held first until the last hour but ended up in second place which is a HUGE win for us!
Also, these students below placed in the Top Ten !
Sawyer Tew 3rd place over all students who attended and 1st out of 4th grade boys!

Stellan Brunson-3rd out of 4th grade boys
Emily George- 1st for fourth grade girls

We couldn't be more proud of their dedication and determination.

Who says learning has to be boring? 4th grade students modeled the three types of rocks with Starburst. Yum!!
Mrs. Brown teaches 3rd grade math and science, and this is her 20th year teaching. She goes above and beyond for her students. Every year she ensures that all of her students receive a stocking filled with goodies at Christmas.
Mrs. Brown knows exactly what each of her students need academically. She believes that every student can learn and excel.

Mrs. McGee, 4th grade ELA teacher, is our first Staff Member of the Week for 2023. This is a Mrs. McGee’s third year at SPE. She was nominated for Staff Member of the Week because she does an exceptional job at creating relationships with students.
