The Bossier Chamber of Commerce is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote growth and development within the communities of Bossier and Caddo Parish. The Chamber promotes growth and development by utilizing its most valuable resource, its membership. Last Thursday, we had a great time at Hilton Shreveport's River & Rye as we kicked off autumn at our third After Hours networking event of the year!

River & Rye brought the autumn spirit with their 'Apple of My Rye' theme, while members of our local business community connected, networked and enjoyed delicious seasonal bites and drinks.

ADVOCACY | Northwest Louisiana Civic Leaders converged on Capitol Hill to bring our issues related to Barksdale Air Force Base, infrastructure, energy, education, and business. Joining us on the trip was the Greater Bossier Economic Development Foundation, Bossier Parish Police Jury, Bossier Metropolitan Planning Commission, Cyber Innovation Center, NLCOG, Bossier Parish Schools, Barksdale Forward, Shreveport - Bossier African American Chamber of Commerce and The Roosevelt Group.

On Thursday, we had the privilege of bringing together military, business and community leaders for our Military Leadership Luncheon in partnership with Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce.

As a 2026 Great American Defense Community, Shreveport-Bossier has been recognized for something our community has understood for generations: supporting the military mission means supporting the people and families behind it.

We were honored to hear from Colonel Chris Cain, Commander of the 2d Bomb Wing, and our keynote speaker, Louisiana Secretary of Veterans Affairs Charlton J. Meginley, who shared perspectives on Barksdale’s mission, veterans, workforce, military families and the transition from military service.

We also highlighted the incredible network of partners connecting our military community with local opportunities, including the Northwest Louisiana APEX Accelerator, Bossier Parish Schools, Military & Family Readiness Center, The Boot, Louisiana Works, Military OneSource and Spouse Works.

Today, the Bossier Chamber hosted a packed AI Lunch & Learn in partnership with NetTech and SonicWall, giving business leaders practical insight into how artificial intelligence is changing the workplace. Our speakers focused on what matters most to businesses: what AI can do, where it can create efficiencies and save valuable time, and the risks and security considerations leaders need to understand as they adopt these new tools.

Today, as a part of our Public Policy Series, we hosted the honorable Judge Michael Nerren and Judge Jeff Thompson for a luncheon.

The two Bossier judges gave a comprehensive update about the judiciary system and answered numerous questions from the business community. Judge Nerren gave an overview of a day in the life of a Bossier judge, of which there are only 6 judges who serve Bossier and Webster Parishes in the 26th Judicial District Court.

Bossier Parish is one of the only Parishes with a judge on-call during the weekend and 24/7 throughout the week, a fact that might explain the impressive number of completed cases in our Parish. Bossier also runs one of the most successful drug programs in the state of Louisiana.
