Bulldog families, let’s talk about life online! 🐾💻
Technology is a big part of our children’s lives and being a good digital citizen is about much more than screen time and passwords. Digital Citizenship Week is an opportunity for schools and families to work together to help kids develop healthy, responsible, and thoughtful technology habits.
At home, you can help by:
🧠 Encouraging critical thinking: Ask your child how they know something online is true before they believe or share it.
💬 Keeping conversations open: Talk regularly about what your child is seeing, doing, and experiencing online. You don't have to be a technology expert to have these conversations!
❤️ Prioritizing real-world connections: Make time for face-to-face relationships, family activities, and time away from screens.
🔍 Being curious together: Ask questions about social media, AI, games, apps, and online trends rather than simply telling kids what they can and cannot do.
🌱 Building healthy habits: Help your child develop a balanced relationship with technology that supports learning, creativity, relationships, and well-being. The goal isn't to keep kids away from technology- it's to help them learn how to use it in positive, creative, safe, and responsible ways. When schools and families work together, our children are better prepared to navigate the digital world today and whatever comes next.
