Hood View Adventist School Seventh Day Adventist Christian Education Hood View Adventist School, formerly Hood View Junior Academy, is a private Christian School in Boring, OR.

Sitting on 20 beautiful wooded acres, grades Preschool through 8th grade are taught not only reading, writing, and arithmetic, but morals, values and character traits. Academically, Hood View is a leader. A NAAS accredited school, we believe in approaching a child’s education holistically – to not only educate, but enrich our children. Students at Hood View participate in Music, Art, and Physical Education, all taught by specialized teachers. Students consistently score at least one grade level above the average student on standardized tests. But Hood View isn’t just about academics. At HVAS, the staff creates a safe environment where each student will be encouraged to have a personal relationship with God and positive relationships with others. HVAS nurtures a healthy self image and teaches students to make healthy choices. We pride ourselves on a ‘family feel’ environment: safe, nurturing and character building. Our small class size and caring teachers are examples of what we stand for at Hood View Adventist School: Preparing People for a Christ-Centered Life…one child at a time.

My grandma always used to say “When the going gets tough…the tough get going!” On Friday morning, it looked like it was going to be a tough day for our HVAS Fun Run with rain and wind when school started. We didn’t back away from that challenge though and decided to forge ahead with the run (with super parent volunteers and the principal working in the rain to make sure the course was ready). God answered prayers to hold off the rain during the run itself and in the end, we had a very fun Fun Run as we raised funds for classrooms, student tuition assistance, and other school activities. A huge thanks to everyone who helped support this fundraiser. Remember, Sunday, September 27 is the last day for donations.

Work started this week on the installation of our new playground structure and it should be ready before school starts on August 26. This important upgrade to our playground is the result of the hard work of many volunteers and the supporters of the 2025 and 2026 HVAS Auctions. A huge thank you to all of you who helped make this goal a reality.
