Congratulations to Camla Dunbar, of Boothbay Harbor! She passed her math HiSET this evening, making her our first graduate of the 2026-27 program year.

Camla participated in the graduation ceremony in June because she passed the other four tests, and we all knew she’d complete math by the end of the summer.

And she did!

My teacher, Tanya Thibault, told me a story about spending time with a young person who looked at her and said, “I love this day with you.” It’s been my tagline for this summer ever since.

So to my teacher Nicole MacDonald, and all the colleagues in the Maine Adult Education field who participated in Camp Common Ground, the 2026 Multilingual Learning Institute at Sugarloaf the last two days:

“I love this day with you.”

Hey everyone, I am working on a special adult education insert for the Boothbay Register to be published in September. I love this cover mockup, but I don't know who the happy bakers are. They attended a class with Debra Arter at BRES between 2023-2025.

The old newspaper editor in me can't run a photo without identification and the educator I am now won't do so without permission. So (yes, I know I am doing both here), does anyone know these people? I would like to check with them before we print and distribute 3,000 copies of their image.

Boothbay-Wiscasset Regional Adult Education celebrated the graduation of four adults who completed the High School Equivalency Tests (HiSET, formerly GED) at its Boothbay Region High School office in a ceremony June 6, at Barrett’s Park.
