What a fun day it was today!
Two CA State FFA officers visited our school and we held our first FFA meeting of the year.
Jaycee Salas, CA FFA State President and Caleb Najera, CA FFA State Treasurer, lead workshops and got to know our members. It was a fun day of learning leadership skills.

The first FFA meeting "Back to FFA" was a success with a packed house in the Ag room. 68 FFA members in attendance! FFA members got to know their chapter officers and had an ice cream social.

The Redwood Empire Fair Junior Livestock Auction was today.
The Mendocino County FFA and 4H members are blessed with huge support from the community even when temps reached 105 degrees.
Thank you to the businesses and individuals who supported Anderson Valley FFA exhibitors!

It was also great that AV FFA alumni Drew McElfresh was able to auction off a number of AV FFA lots. Including two who lived in Yorkville like Drew did as a kid.

It is Junior Livestock Auction Day!
It is going to be a sizzling 106 today.
Exhibitors will be working hard prepping and keeping their projects comfortable.

Friday was an extremely busy and hot day.
Swine showmanship. Samantha won Advanced Swine Showmanship and advanced to Large Animal Round Robin Showmanship.

In the late afternoon Samantha competed with other showman who had won their species in showmanship. She showed pigs, dairy cattle, sheep, beef cattle, dairy goats, meat goats, and horse. Most of these she had never shown before. During the the heat of the afternoon she met with other exhibitors to learn how to show some of the species.

The Round Robin results will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on Sunday.

After round robin, Samanthat took her pig to the Pen of Champions for the public to see the winners.
