Anderson Valley Junior-Senior High The school offers a wide range of afterschool enrichment programs, study groups and a competitive sports program.

Anderson Valley Junior Senior High School, through implementation of Common Core Standards, project-based instruction and a common academic language, graduates students ready for college and career. The leadership team and instructional staff employ a process for systematic use of student performance data to measure the effects of school programs and services, to guide staff development and to mod

ify instruction for learners identified as low-achieving. Utilizing school wide AVID strategies, staff is able to improve the performance of English Learners and eliminate the gap between the highest and lowest achieving students. The Senior Seminar course requirement includes a robust Senior Project, Service Learning, Job Shadowing and other college and career preparation activities, not only increases the rigor of the Senior year but also graduates students ready for their next chapter in life. Anderson Valley Junior Senior High School creates and sustains a safe and effective school culture using Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports and Restorative Justice practices. Fall of 2014, all six sports teams received Scholastic Athlete Awards and the three varsity teams were number one in the league. Anderson Valley Junior Senior High School offers a full comprehensive curriculum. Career Pathways include Agriculture, Art Media and Entertainment, and Construction. AP and honors course offerings include AP US History, Economics, Government, English, Calculus and Physics. The science and math departments offer a new STEM curriculum focused on students designing and interpreting science experiments and programming using the LOGO language. The Boonville Space Program conducts launches up to 60,000 feet to explore the effects of radiation with a variety of experiments.

Application by Friday, 8/28/26. We are currently updating our Sun Bucks information for the California Department of Education (CDE).

If your student does not have a current Lunch Application on file, it may affect your family’s eligibility to receive Sun Bucks benefits
next summer.

Please return the application as soon as possible. Thank you for your help!

Reminder: Back to School Night for the High School is tomorrow at 4:30pm. Any students and parents who attend will receive a free entry ticket to the volleyball game against Upper Lake.
Recordatorio: La noche de regreso a clases para la secundaria/preparatoria es mañana a las 4:30pm. Los estudiantes y padres que asistan recibirán una entrada gratis al juego de voleibol contra Upper Lake.

Reminder:
Don't forget to stop by and fill out the orientation forms on Monday(HS) and Tuesday(JH) between the hours of 10am - 1pm. There are several documents we need before school starts to ensure that your child gets all their materials.
Please note that if your HS student is planning to play volleyball or soccer, they may not practice until the office has all the necessary paperwork. Do NOT give paperwork to coaches. Stay tuned for JH Volleyball(No practice yet).
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call us.

No olviden pasar a llenar los documentos de la orientación el lunes(grados 9-12) o martes(grados 7-8) entre las 10am y 1pm. Tenemos varios documentos que necesitamos antes de que comiencen las clases para asegurar que su hijo/a reciba todos sus materiales escolares.

We hope you have all had a wonderful summer break. Please remember the first day of school is August 17th. Orientation days are the following:
August 10th - HS Orientation between 10am - 1pm
August 11th - JH Orientation between 10am - 1pm
Also, if any JH and 6th grade girls are interested in playing volleyball, please call the High School office to sign up.

Summer School will begin on Monday, June 22nd from 8:30am-12:30pm. There will be a schedule outside the office that will show your student what class he/she should go to. If your student is not on the list, please see Ms. Ewing or Chris.
The office will be closed tomorrow, June 19th.

Las clases de verano comienzan el lunes 22 de junio entre las 8am y 12:30pm. Tendremos una lista afuera de la oficina donde le mostrara a su hijo/a en que salon debería asistir. Si su hijo/a no está en la lista por favor busquen a Ms. Ewing o Chris.
