Our students proudly welcomed faculty to a special Pancake Party! 🥞 They put their real-world math skills to work by carefully measuring ingredients and using the correct proportions to make the perfect pancake batter. After cooking their pancakes, they added a delicious homemade berry topping for the finishing touch.

This fun, hands-on activity combined math, cooking, teamwork, and life skills while giving students the opportunity to share their hard work with members of our school community. It was a delicious way to build confidence, create connections, and make lasting memories!

Our elementary students had a blast last week as they teamed up with our preschool students for a fun science experiment! Together, they mixed up a homemade bubble solution and had so much fun blowing bubbles while exploring a little science along the way.

We would love to share our bubble recipe below so you can join in on the fun from home!

Bubble recipe: Combine 3/4 cup dishwashing soap, 1/4 cup sugar and 8 cups of water. Use pipe cleaners to make wands in different sizes.

Nothing says summer like homemade lemonade and freshly popped popcorn! 🍋🍿

Today, our students squeezed plenty of lemons to make a delicious sweet-and-tart lemonade before watching kernels magically pop in the air popper for a healthy, tasty snack. It was a fun day of hands-on learning and summer treats!

Today's Cooking Week recipe was fresh homemade salsa using ingredients straight from our garden! 🍅🌶️🌿 Students combined fresh tomatoes, peppers, and cilantro to create a delicious salsa while learning about healthy eating and enjoying the flavors of their hard work. Fresh from the garden never tasted so good!

We kicked off Cooking Week by making delicious homemade sorbet! 🍓🍌 Students blended frozen fruit into a refreshing treat that was the perfect way to cool off on a hot summer day. Learning has never tasted so sweet! ☀️🍧

Storytime had a very special guest at RVS! 🐾

Our students welcomed Biscuit, a Seeing Eye Dog in training, for a memorable visit. One student discovered a Biscuit book and shared the story with Biscuit and their classmates. Everyone loved listening to the story, meeting Biscuit, and learning more about these amazing dogs in training. It was a paws-itively wonderful experience for all!

Today students had hands-on science in action! Students explored the concepts of buoyancy and density through a fun sink-or-float experiment, making predictions and testing which objects would float or sink.

They also were learning through play! Students strengthened their math fact fluency with the "7 Ate 9" card game while demonstrating excellent focus, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
