We are proud to recognize Emily Pollard as this month’s Northeast Way Award recipient. This award honors employees who make a meaningful difference in the lives of others through kindness, encouragement, and a genuine commitment to the Northeast community.
Sometimes, the moments that make the biggest difference are the ones we don’t realize will stay with someone for years to come.
For one former student, a conversation with Emily became one of those moments.
“She told me that I was capable of doing anything I wanted to, no matter what other people thought of me.”
Emily later shared that conversation in her “You Are Worth It!” blog, reflecting on how much she believes in the potential of her students:
“That is why I love my job… seeing the potential in students before they see it themselves.”
She went on to share advice her own grandmother once gave her: “Do not let anyone determine your success or failure; the only one who can do that is you.”
Emily’s impact reaches far beyond a single conversation. From her work with the Tiger Den to community outreach programs, after-school activities, athletic events, band, cheer, BSU, and countless other campus activities, she consistently shows up for students and for Northeast.
Her support reminds students that they are capable, valued, and worth believing in, even when they may not believe it themselves.
Congratulations, Emily Pollard, on being named this month’s Northeast Way Award recipient. Thank you for the countless ways you support our students and for reminding them that they are capable of more than they may realize.
