The Prentiss County School District, in partnership with Northeast Mississippi Community College, will offer after-school tutoring and academic enrichment opportunities for students in grades 4–12 at five of our campuses. The Mississippi Legislature recently passed a new attendance law that brings changes for school districts across the state.

The Prentiss County School District is committed to helping parents and students understand these new requirements. Please take a moment to review the information below so you are familiar with the changes that are in effect for the 2026–2027 school year.

If you have questions regarding the new attendance law or the District’s attendance procedures, please contact your child’s school or the central office.

School begins on Monday, August 3, and we need your help keeping our students safe.

Please watch for our school buses each morning and afternoon. Never pass a stopped school bus displaying red flashing lights. A few seconds of waiting could save a child’s life.

Be alert for children loading and unloading at bus stops. Slow down, eliminate distractions, and use extra caution whenever you see a school bus.

Our children’s safety is everyone’s responsibility. Thank you for doing your part to help keep the students of the Prentiss County School District safe.
