The Paper Dolls and other MCV groups here in Prentiss County make such an impact with our community.

Thank you to the Mississippi Community Volunteer group The Paper Dolls for a large donation of pencils to be used as prizes and incentives for kids!

Last week we wrapped up the second day of plant camp - Plants for Lunch (& snack and breakfast too😉)!

Youth learned how ants find and retrieve food, they used produce to express their creativity and make critters, and then they were able to try new foods and investigate new flavors!

Thanks to our Prentiss County Master Gardeners and 4-H volunteers Donna & Ginger for getting this program together.

Dairy goats & beef shows will have buckles for showmanship prizes! Some other prizes for the rest of the week include backpacks, plaques, buckets, towels & more!

This time last week 4 of our senior 4-H members were on the .22 rifle (Josiah, Austin, & Olivia) and shotgun (Jeremiah) ranges competing at the MS 4-H Shooting Sports State Championship in the Jackson area!

The .22 kids all placed tin the top 10 over all! Josiah 7th
Olivia 2nd
Austin 1st ( he also placed 1st in each subcategory)

Jeremiah competed against more than 150 other shotgun participants and ranked 48th on the overall score.

Thank you to the parents and coaches that support these youth in their projects, without you it wouldn’t happen!

If you are interested in volunteering your time as a coach, reach out to our office. We are always in need of 4-H volunteers ( for any project area not just shooting sports)!

It's almost that time! Please join us for the Prentiss County Fair Livestock Shows & Archery Event. For the locals, details on other fair events will be shared closer to time!

Beef, Rabbit, and Dairy Goat entries will be taken through showman.app website; please email all Dairy Cattle entries to C.J. Baginski at [email protected]; and all archery entries will be taken at the door ($10 per entry, up to three classes). Livestock entry QR code is on the event flyer attached and a showman.app entry page web link is listed below.
