Since 1998 the Craft Enrichment program at Appalachian has served the community and the university by offering classes led by professional artists, crafts people and university instructors in facilities with professional-level equipment. Offerings include pottery/ceramics, drawing and painting, weaving, jewelry making, videography, photography, fiber arts, glass arts, basket making, wood turning, metalworking, and such sustainable technology topics as biodiesel production. Most classes meet over multiple weeks during the Fall, Spring, or Summer. Registration for each class is open until the class reaches capacity or until one day before the class begins. If you miss the registration for this semester, we hope you will consider taking this class the next time it is offered. Affordable community craft classes taught by craft artists with local and regional reputations are held on the campus of Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. Online classes are held virtually and thus can be attended by the larger community outside of Boone, NC. This program is open to everyone; affiliation with the university is not required.
