Boone Middle School Band

A massive congratulations to 8th grade band student Emily Lutz (clarinet) on her outstanding performance at the SCIBA Honor Band auditions on Oct. 6th. Emily’s months of preparation paid off in a huge way—she was officially selected for the top honor band on clarinet!

Earning a chair in the top ensemble is a prestigious accomplishment and a direct result of her discipline, focus, and drive. Emily continues to serve as a stellar leader in our band room and an inspiration to her peers.

Congratulations, Emily! We can't wait to hear you shine in the honor band performance in Ankeny on November 10th!

On Tuesday, Oct. 6th, two dedicated 8th grade band students (Jamison Brown on trombone and Jayde Knoblauch on flute) traveled to audition for the SCIBA Honor Band. Behind those few minutes in front of the judge were months of hard work, extra lessons, and tireless practice perfecting complex scales and etudes.

Auditions like this take immense bravery. They teach our students resiliency, grit, and the real value of individual dedication. While they weren't selected for the honor band this year, their hard work speaks volumes.

To us, they are true leaders. Their work ethic inspires everyone in the band room every single day, and we couldn't be prouder of how they represented Boone!

🎶 Friday night lights! 🏈

Our 8th grade band students joined the high school band for the football game!

Experiences like this show the importance of strong music programs at every level and give students a glimpse of where their musical journey can take them.

So proud of these musicians! 💙🎶

8th grade students will be joining the Toreador band tonight for the national anthem at the varsity football game!

Students need to report to the band bleachers by 6:30 p.m. to prepare for the 6:45 pregame performance. After the performance, they are free to cheer on the Toreadors (and watch halftime of course!) with their friends or family.

🚨 NO PERFORMANCE THIS MORNING 🚨

Unfortunately due to the forecast for rain, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our band's performance in the parade this morning.

Because our students and equipment would need to be outdoors for a significant amount of time, the risk of exposing our instruments to rain is simply too great.

We are disappointed that we won't be able to participate but we appreciate your understanding.

At this time, no make up performance is planned. Thank you for supporting our band.

If you see this, please give it a thumbs up so I know people are getting it.

High School Band has also canceled their performance.
