Senior CJ major Scarlet Little was hired during her internship by the Avery County DA’s office. Way to go, Scarlet!

We had the privilege of welcoming Tara Bland, Executive Director of Carolina Caring, to our Fundraising & Marketing course this week. She shared her inspiring career journey and offered powerful, real-world insights on fundraising, storytelling, and building meaningful connections with donors.

Our students walked away with practical strategies, and a deeper understanding of what it truly takes to lead with purpose in the nonprofit sector.

Senior public administration majors Kevin Mendoza and David Stuart are interning this semester at F.A.R.M. Cafe, learning a lot about nonprofit management and community collaboration.

Senior CJ major Celeste Castrejon is interning this term at Smith Immigration Law Firm in Hickory.

Criminal justice major John Norris (center) is interning this semester with the NC SBI district in Hickory.

CJ major Ray Jackson (center) is interning at Butner Public Safety, which provides both fire and law enforcement services…. a rare organizational mission in today’s communities.

Ashlyn Angell did an excellent job with the required internship presentation at her agency, the NC Divisionf of Juvenile Justice in Winston-Salem.

CJ major Samuel Ruiz Santiago is interning this term with Youth Collaborative, Inc. in Winston-Salem, a nonprofit that works to intervene and support young people affected by gang involvement.
