Today, App State celebrated our ninth annual Founders Day, honoring the university’s founders, the school’s first day of classes in 1899 and 127 years of App State.

With the ringing of the Founders Bell, eight new members were inducted into the university’s Bell Ringers Society. This year’s class of bell ringers represented App State faculty, staff, students and alumni, as well as university supporters, who have and continue to make an impact on the university and the local community. The society now comprises 64 members.

After the ceremony, Founders Day continued on Sanford Mall, where App State students, faculty and staff took part in a celebratory ice cream social.
