We spy GES major Caityn Heney! Congrats on your summer internship with NC Dept of Environmental Quality, can't wait to hear about the experience when we get back in the Fall.

The future is in good hands... Great time yesterday at our annual NC Dept of Environmental Quality Intern event! This day gives our summer interns an opportunity to learn about the department and network with each other and DEQ staff, and DEQ employees provide a career panel and educational activities. We also invite interns from other state departments to participate which this year included the Office of Governor Josh Stein, NC Department of Administration, North Carolina Department of Commerce, NC Department of Natural & Cultural Resources, Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Partnership State Archives of North Carolina and the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences

With all the happenings in April, you may have missed this. Dr. Sarah Evans presented her new hydrology kids book “Drip Drop”! It was illustrated by Dr. Anna Buckner of the College of Fine and Applied Arts at Appalachian State University and art student Madi Cole. We loved showing it off and giving away a hundred copies at this year’s The Children's Playhouse Buildfest with the help of some great GES students who engaged the kids in related activities.
