It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of our classmate, Mario Gonzalez. Please keep the Gonzalez family in your thoughts and prayers.

The Mario Gonzalez Memorial Fund has been established through Vision Bank in Boone. All donations will go directly to the wife of Mario Gonzalez. Make donations out to the Mario Gonzalez Memorial Fund and take or send them to any Vision Bank branch location.

It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Officer Mario Gonzalez. While off duty, Mario was involved in a fatal traffic accident on November 20, 2021. Mario was a full time officer with the Boone Police Department from August 2016 through October 2019 and remained a valuable part-time officer for the department since 2019. Mario was also a proud member of the Iowa Army National Guard. Most importantly, Mario was a husband and the father of two small children. A memorial fund for the family will be established on Monday through Vision Bank. All funds will go directly to the wife of Mario Gonzalez to use as needed. The family asks for privacy during this difficult time. Please join us in praying for peace and strength for his family.

Based on some of the feedback we have received towards the class reunion, I wanted to give some explanation.

Unfortunately we haven't had much interest in planning outside of a few class members, so we picked a date and tried to make it work for as many people as we can. Accommodating 160+ people's schedules isn't possible. For the ones attempting to plan the reunion, this is our first try, we are only human. We will take into account some of the things we can improve on and use them for the next reunion.

If there is any positive feedback or suggestions towards planning in the weeks to come feel free to leave suggestions below.
