Let’s Talk is an outreach effort from the Counseling Center that provides easy access to informal, brief, and confidential one-on-one consultations with Counseling Center staff. This program can help students address specific problems and familiarize them with the process of talking to a counselor. Let’s Talk consultants can share helpful resources, offer their perspective on a student’s concerns, and assist in learning how to help a friend. Additionally, they can help students determine whether formal counseling at the Counseling Center would be useful and, if appropriate, assist students in scheduling an appointment. Although Let’s Talk consultants are mental health professionals, this service is not intended to be a substitute for psychotherapy or emergency services and does not constitute mental health treatment.
Let's Talk is available via Zoom, Tuesdays 1-3pm and Wednesdays 2-4pm. For the Zoom links and more information, visit: https://counseling.appstate.edu/pagesmith/466
Students who prefer to get started with formal counseling services instead can learn more here: https://counseling.appstate.edu/getting-started
Please note: While we strive to ensure the confidentiality of Let’s Talk sessions, there are privacy risks associated with any online platforms.
