FFA students - please join us tomorrow for an FFA meeting in Mrs. Bare's room after the pep rally to hear about upcoming events! We will be setting up a tailgate party in the parking lot afterwards from 5-7pm before the homecoming football game! We will have games, music, and food. You don't want to miss it!

Summer is almost over and we are reminiscing on the great time that we had at NCFFA Camp! Be on the lookout for all the fun events starting up soon!

We’ve had a great time at the NC FFA State Convention this week!
- Avery S, Alaina O, Madison F, and Aubrey N competed in the Milk Quality and Products CDE. They placed 5th in the state out of 79 teams!!! The highest scoring individual was Alaina O, who placed 9th out of 300 students!
- Paisley C, Bella B, Allie E, and Grace T competed in the Quiz Bowl CDE. Our Quiz Bowl team placed 3rd at regionals and we tied for second place in their first bracket.
- Aubrey N, Avery S, and Nora SP all earned their State FFA Degrees! This is the highest degree that a student can earn at the state level, and requires 300 hours of work and/or $1,000 earned in their SAE projects, as well as an application process.
- Finally, Watauga FFA alum and current NC State student Lilly F was recognized as an American FFA Degree candidate! This is the highest achievement a collegiate FFA member can earn (only 1% of FFA members achieve this)! She will be awarded this honor at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis this fall.

Congratulations to all these students for their hard work!

Watauga FFA's annual plant sale will be held on FRIDAY, MAY 1 and SATURDAY, MAY 2 from 8am-6pm both days in the WHS greenhouse located at the back of the school building! We have a variety of hanging baskets, perennials, annuals, houseplants/foliage, and some herbs. Full plant list below - we have multiple colors of each plant listed.

All are welcome! We are doing a giveaway as well! To participate, check the comments!
