Bassoon and oboe players, join us for App State's Double Reed Day on October 24! Hear performances by and learn from our own faculty, Dr. Luis Gallo and Dr. David A. Wells, and our special guests, Dr. Kim Woolly and Dr. Pablo Hernandez from the University of Southern Mississippi. Plus, play in a big double reed band and shop with our great vendors. This event is FREE, but registration is required.

Spend the afternoon with Dr. David A. Wells and Dr. Luis Gallo of Appalachian State University and Dr. Kim Woolly and Dr. Pablo Hernandez of The University of Southern Mississippi.

The event will include performances, masterclasses, workshops, a double reed band, and the chance to shop with oboe and bassoon vendors, including KassandraBassoon, Bel Canto Reeds, Reedy Set Go!, Cayambis Music Press, and Javier Perez Oboes.

Congrats to everyone who played on the Woodwind Chamber Concert last week! Abigail played a virtuosic trio on a theme of Mozart, written by Beethoven. And Andrew and the played two movements of .ewazen’s Roarking Fork. Bravi tutti!

The bassoon section of the Appalachian Wind Ensemble sounded fantastic in the band’s final concert of the semester earlier this week! Plus, Owen was recognized for this being his last AWE concert before graduation, and Colin and Jasper got a soli bow for their work in Paul Dooley’s 𝘔𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘔𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴.
