We are still accepting applications and still have openings in most instrument areas!

This is your chance to spend the summer growing as a musician, working with incredible faculty, and connecting with students who share your passion for music.

If your instrument area is currently full, you can still join the waitlist for free. Spots do open up, and we would love to have you join us if one becomes available!

YOU have the opportunity to share this summer with a buddy and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Cannon Music Camp is a place where you will meet people from all over the state and even all over the country but there is something special about celebrating the experience alongside someone you already know. Why not invite a friend to experience the musical magic of Cannon with you?

Last summer, the top schools sending the most students were Asheville High School (NC) Wake Forest High School (NC), and Harrison High School (FL). We love seeing these schools show up and support one another at Cannon.

Our team at Cannon Music Camp values our tradition and history. Recently, we were able to look through University Archives and view pictures from our beginnings that have never been shared with you before. Together, these offer a sneak peek into what Cannon Music Camp was like back in the day.

In the first photo (circa 1975), students are practicing piano in the piano lab. Look at those headphones!

Next is from our first summer in 1969, this photo was taken of a few of our first-ever students standing with their instruments. In the third picture (circa 1980), students are outside the Schaefer Center after a performance in their concert black.

Another image features Music Professor Bill McCloud presenting an Outstanding Musician Award to a student circa 1980. The last image is from when Cannon still had baton class! Comment if we should bring this back!

Congratulations, Judah! Cannon Music Camp - Summer Music Camp alum!

AHS directors of the past had a chance to see one of our most successful recent alums, Judah Barak, who is a percussionist in the “The Commandant’s Own,” the United States Marine Drum & Bugle Corps in Washington, D.C. Judah spent all 7 years in the ACS band program, and attended Cannon Music Camp and Brevard Music Center before doing his music degree at Mars Hill University. We are so proud of his accomplishments as we are of all of our band alums doing great things around the world!

Each year, we seek a few new counselors who will wear the black and white polo! This could be you!

Cannon Music Camp counselors are typically music educators or currently pursuing a music degree. 🎵
In addition to their responsibilities for the safety and supervision of campers, counselors contribute to the success of our camp ensembles, performances, and activities through their musical expertise.

New counselor applicants can learn more and apply for the position at cannon.appstate.edu/work! Link in Bio!

Here are some helpful hints when applying! 💛

🎵Current eighth graders through graduating high school seniors can apply.

🎵Camp lasts from June 20 - July 11, 2026.
 Instrument areas include voice, piano, woodwinds, brass, strings, percussion, guitar, and harp.

🎵 An audition is not required in order to apply to camp, but is encouraged for those participating in the scholarship application process!
