Layers of Learning is rigorously academic, totally adaptable, completely organized, and extremely fun. The Layers of Learning series provides EXPLORATIONS, activities for kids to do on topics ranging from Ancient Greece to the Periodic Table of the Elements; EXPERIMENTS, scientific discovery your kids can do at home; and EXPEDITIONS, awesome field trip ideas. Your whole family will learn together in this innovative, hands-on family school-style. There's lots of flexibility and room for you to go off on tangents with additional "Layers" that relate to the main topic, mini bios of famous people, interesting tidbits of information, and much more.

Do you have an "art gallery" of your kids' work in your house? We've always had gallery spaces, but I'm wanting to redo some and I'm thinking of turning a wall into a giant magnet board. I'm still feeling torn though! Do you have any brilliant ideas for showing off kids' work?

A lot of people who start using Layers of Learning say they need a curriculum that tells them exactly what to say and do, but that is a change we will never make; Layers of Learning will never be scripted. Schools and textbooks tell you exactly what to think, but we believe exploring and researching is a much more valuable education. Instead of a script, we are asking you to make choices, prioritize, think, and explore right alongside your kids. The more you do it, the more natural it becomes. Thinking becomes relaxing and even addictive. Before long, you will end up loving it and will refuse anything less. We hope you will splash and play in the brook and explore for the rest of your life. THAT is a true education!
