South Coast Paranormal South Coast Paranormal - We're putting the normal back in paranormal! "GhostInvestigations.com" was the first incarnation of SCP. We have never looked back.

South Coast Paranormal began in 2004, although they were a part of another group in the beginning. Team Lead, David Walters, formed the San Diego Chapter of the GhostInvestigations.com team along with his then fiancé, Elleicia (Ellie) Walters. The founder of GhostInvestigations.com was living in New Mexico running an enormously large ring of "TAPS Family" paranormal teams without reporting any of these teams to the TAPS Headquarters in Rhode Island. The San Diego Chapter of GI began to take on more cases than any other GI team and soon gathered attention from the other GI teams. There was a dispute between David and Steve involving case requests and Steve decided to shut down the entire California Chapter. David and Ellie took it upon themselves to act quickly, and build a new home for the former San Diego Chapter of GI. This marked the birth of Pacific Paranormal Investigations. David and Ellie recruited a few new members to the team and before too long PPI was the only TAPS Family Member team in the Southern California area. David, Ellie, and the PPI crew were handling cases nearly every weekend. Unfortunately, we didn't live happily ever after...yet. After a few years, a conflict of goals and vision between some of the newer members in PPI began to brew. David and Ellie were against completely shutting down the group after they put so much into getting it started. They decided to leave PPI in the hands of a couple of the members, and form yet another Southern California team of Paranormal Investigators. This is where South Coast Paranormal is officially born, out of more than half of the orignal PPI members spawned South Coast Paranormal. The first of many changes SCP made was to drop the TAPS Family Membership and cut all of our ties with TAPS and the largely fictional show, Ghost Hunters! We pride ourselves by not having any ties to the fraudulent TAPS and thier corrupt TAPS Family.
