For all my high-achieving soul sisters out there: You showed up. You did the work. You gave it your all. Another semester will soon be in your rearview mirror. Before you start stressing about all the things you need to do next, how would your confidence shift UP if you took a moment to acknowledge yourself for everything you just accomplished these past few months? Pause. Take it all in. Ask yourself:

1) What did I learn this semester that excited me?
2) How have I grown?
3) Regardless of my resulting GPA, what am I proud of myself for?
4) How will I celebrate that today?

Resist the temptation to downplay your accomplishment. You are not bragging. You're simply honoring yourself, owning your capabilities and giving other women and girls permission to do the same. I am so proud of you. High five! šŸ‘šŸ’‹ā¤ļø

Close your eyes. Focus on the sound of your breath. Breathe in to a count of 4, and out to a count of 5. In to a count of 4, and out to a count of 6. Repeat ten times. What’s different? Remember, there’s no shame in taking a break in times of stress. You’ll emerge with more clarity and confidence in yourself to create solutions. You got this girl!

Did you know that less than 4 percent of American college students eat the recommended five or more servings of fruits and veggies per day?*

What does this have to do with women’s leadership? According to new research**, 80 percent of incoming female college students say that their drive to achieve is greater than the average student their age, yet less than half of these young women say that their physical and emotional health is greater than the average student their age. A daily diet that’s deficient in fruits and vegetables creates nutritional deficiencies in the body, contributing to chronic physical and emotional health challenges.

Bottom line: It doesn’t matter how ambitious we women are, if we don’t have good physical and emotional health, it will be hard to get in the game and stay in the game. We are only as good as our energy is. Been there, done that and survived!
