Jimi Bauchat started teaching Drums in 1988 in Los Angeles. After moving to Colorado, he taught there as well and in 1997 started his own company, - The Colorado Drum Institute. After a couple years of success, he was approached by a students mother and was asked “Why don’t you teach other instruments so I don’t have to take my other son so far away for his guitar lessons?” After considering what she had asked he found a new location, some really great teachers and a new name. - The Colorado Music Institute. After a short time the school had grown to the largest privately owned music school in the world. Now residing in South West Florida, he is re-creating the magic that had sustained the school in Colorado. “Our sole purpose is to provide lessons to people of all ages, levels and styles specializing in Guitar, Drums, Piano, Keyboards, Vocals and Bass.” Structured in a creative environment, our instructors are top notched, local and seasoned professional musicians. “Not only do we have instructors that can play their butts off, their knowledge of theory and reading music is off the charts. In addition, I hire only people that Instruct, Inform and especially INSPIRE their students to strive to be the best they can be, and.......We Make it Fun!” Selecting the right teacher for yourself and/or your child can be somewhat challenging especially if you don’t really know what to look for. “I’ve had drum students come to me because their current instuctors couldn’t help the student with their 8th grade concert band music simply because the drum teachers couldn’t read music. Or some teachers just don’t have the ability to Inspire and have fun with the students.
