Our children were thrilled when an ice cream truck stopped by for a special visit. From excited smiles and happy waves to choosing their favorite frozen treats, it was a memory-making afternoon filled with joy, laughter, and plenty of sticky fingers!

At Palms, we believe childhood is meant to be celebrated, and sometimes that means pausing for a little extra fun. Thank you to our special visitors for helping us create such a sweet summer memory for our children.

Nothing says summer quite like happy children, cool water, and endless laughter! Our first Splash Day of the summer was filled with smiles, splashes, and plenty of opportunities for children to explore, play, and connect with friends.

Water play is more than just fun—it supports sensory exploration, coordination, confidence, and joyful childhood memories. We can’t wait for many more Fridays filled with sunshine and serious fun!

Here’s to a summer of making waves, building friendships, and creating unforgettable memories—one splash at a time.

Thank you to our local library for coming to see us, reading to all of the classrooms, and giving us some books to choose from and take home. We are feeling so excited and thankful!

Squish, press, roll, twist, imagine
Our loose parts clay invitation was all about the process — not the product. With open-ended materials and endless possibilities, children explored, experimented, problem-solved, and created freely through their own ideas and hands. In true child-led fashion, every piece told a different story, reminding us that creativity blooms when there’s no “right way” to create.

🐛✨ Our Insect Study is buzzing with wonder at Palms Day School! ✨🐛

Today, our curious learners became little scientists as they set off on a caterpillar hunt around the playground. The excitement was contagious as the children carefully searched high and low, gathering in joyful circles each time a wriggly friend was discovered.

The adventure continued with a special field trip back into the classroom, where the caterpillars (and a few of their tiny friends!) were placed on display for close observation. The children studied their movements, asked thoughtful questions, and marveled at the magic of nature up close.

To deepen our exploration, we gathered together to read the beloved The Very Hungry Caterpillar, then rolled up our sleeves and created our very own caterpillars from green playdough.

Through hands-on discovery, storytelling, and creative expression, our insect study came to life in the most joyful way. Cue the wonder, curiosity, and tiny adventures of childhood. 🐛💚

Fresh from their shells and straight into the hearts of our children… our baby chicks have arrived! 🐣✨

For the past several weeks, we have been immersed in a wonderful chicken study—learning all about eggs, life cycles, feathers, nesting, and what baby chicks need to grow. With great excitement, the children patiently waited and watched for our eggs to hatch.

Now the big moment has arrived! Some of our brave students had the special opportunity to gently hold the baby chicks. There were smiles, wide eyes, and so much wonder as the children experienced the softness, movement, and magic of new life up close.

Moments like these help children build confidence, empathy, patience, and a deeper connection to the natural world. What a sweet little adventure for our Palms friends!
