Holmes County High

We hope all Holmes County High School families are safe following the storm. As we prepare for the upcoming school week, we want to check on our families and find out who may still be without electricity.

Please complete the “Post-Hurricane Check-In: Power Survey” shared through ParentSquare so the district can identify families still without power.

Bay County has made the decision to cancel school on Thursday, October 8 because of the impending and unpredictable tropical storm. As a result of this, their football teams will not be allowed to travel tomorrow night. The HCHS Homecoming game against Bozeman has been canceled.

All the homecoming activities scheduled during the day Thursday (the parade and the pep rally) will be held at the scheduled times: the parade at 9 and the pep rally at 1. The Homecoming Queen and King will be crowned during the pep rally.

We would like to thank all the people that have been working in our community to prepare the field and donating their time and effort to make this week special for our students. We are disappointed the game has been canceled, but we are thankful for the support we have received this week.

Out of an abundance of caution and much consideration, the homecoming football game against Bozeman that was scheduled for Friday night has been changed to Thursday. This decision was made due to the excessive rain we have experienced over the last few days with more coming from this new system in the Gulf of America. The safety of our athletes is our priority, we will continue to monitor the condition of the field. The location of the game will be decided late tomorrow afternoon. All homecoming festivities (except for the dance) will be held Thursday at the same scheduled time. The dance will be rescheduled at a later date. We apologize for any inconveniences this has created for those traveling here for reunions and other homecoming activities.
