We are almost a week away from the FCMG Rainwater Harvest Workshop, and there is still space to join us. The optional afternoon session will be building your own rain harvesting barrel. You’ll need a plastic trash can or food safe barrel (35 gallons) and there will be supplies for sale to convert them to save and use the water. We hope to see you there!

Come out and join us for our Rainwater Harvesting Workshop on May 8, 2026 from 9 am - 12 pm. Dean Minchillo, from the Texas Water Resources Institute, will be our guest speaker talking about ways to conserve water and save money! The optional afternoon session (1:30 pm - 2:30 pm) will be constructing a rain barrel harvesting system. Kits will be available for purchase at the door, but you will need to bring your own barrel. Recommendations are for a 35 gallon plastic trash can or a plastic food grade barrel. We hope you will come out and learn with us!

The 2026 Garden, Lawn, and Home Expo included a great lineup of speakers. We learned all sorts of things about pollinators focusing on honeybees and native bees, what we need for grape production, and inviting beneficial insects into our gardens to protect against pests. Work has already begin on next year’s expo so mark your calendar for March 20, 2027.
