We support neurodiverse brains and bodies to communicate and participate in movement, play, life skills, activities of learning. Our staff is skilled in ASL and AAC communication methods, and are all neurodiversity-affirming.

A big shout out to all the kids who didn’t win an award, make honor roll, or barely made it through the school year. A big hug to the moms, dads, grandparents, caregivers, and foster parents who stuck by them as they maneuvered the school year the best they could.

To the kids that didn’t get invited to the prom, didn’t get a scholarship to college, and/or have to go straight to work out of high school....you pushed through and did it. You reached your own amazing milestone.

Some kids have to work twice as hard as other students just to get a C. Their achievements deserve recognition.

Don’t forget those kids.

You are worthy. You are exactly where you need to be. Trust you have a special purpose in this world, even if you don’t see it yet. You are amazing.

Kindness, creativity, and generosity.... those attributes sadly don’t get the accolades they deserve in our education system.

I have had this same knowing, so beautifully communicated by a parent of a child with PDA, that clearly landed in me:

“I want to offer a lens shift that is helping me in case it is valuable to anyone else here:

Something I realized about my kid is that he is wired for the future. He is not wired for hierarchy or patriarchy, or any of the power dynamics which are currently on the planet now. He is here to disrupt that. And the first place he is learning to disrupt those power dynamics is at home. It is painfully hard on us parents, and even probably harder on them.

When I look at my child, and I understand the soul journey he is on. When I understand the incredible role he has taken on to be a living breathing reset and disruptor to broken hierarchical systems that must change in order for life to thrive and heal on the planet.. well, when I think of him in that way I have so much compassion for him. I see how much he is struggling and suffering as a person who was not wired for the status quo, but wired to be the change. What a heavy load to carry. I am brought to tears with compassion.

How can I help this incredible being be more at harmony with himself and others? How can I help him express the fullness of the medicine that he is for the world.

Lately, when I am feeling overwhelmed beyond measure and abused... I try to zoom out to this. When I do this lense shift in the moment of disregulation, it's actually creating a powerful window IN THAT VERY MOMENT for a shift...

Easier said than done. It's all a practice.
