Twas the Night Before Montessori School

’Twas the night before school, and all through each home,
The children were eager for morning to come.

Their lunch bags were ready, their shoes by the door,
The fresh classroom awaited with work to explore.

The shelves had been filled with materials fair,
Bead chains and puzzles all waiting with care.

The teachers were smiling, the rugs all rolled tight,
Preparing the classroom for joy and delight.

And soon little voices and footsteps would fall,
Bringing new friendships and learning for all.

So sleep now, dear children, the morning is bright—
Happy school year to all, and to all a good night!
