🌊 What a great first week at The COAST! 💙

We were so happy to welcome our students back into the building this week! Our teachers and students jumped right in, and it was great to see classrooms filled with learning, engagement, and positive energy.

We’re settling into our routines, building relationships, and getting off to a strong start. We can’t wait to see all that this school year has in store for our students and staff!

Students in Honors Child Development at The COAST honored the memory and legacy of Dolly Parton today by learning about the Imagination Library, the flagship program of The Dollywood Foundation. Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading and learning in children from birth to age five, by gifting high quality books, free of charge to families through funding shared by Dolly and local community partners like Smart Start of Brunswick County.

Throughout this semester, students in Honors Child Development will learn about early brain development and the importance of reading to young children. Brain science provides evidence that reading to children before kindergarten positively influences the developing brain.
