Congratulations to BCC Teacher Education student Samantha Sweeney!

She received the Early Childhood Education Curriculum Award during the Student Awards Recognition Ceremony on Monday at Odell Williamson Auditorium.
President Gene Smith, alongside faculty and staff, honored the best and brightest in front of a crowd of proud families, friends, and instructors.
Samantha’s precious family was there to cheer her on as well!

Welcome Dr. Rick Hessman!

The newest Brunswick Community College Board of Trustees member, Dr. Rick Hessman, was recently sworn in by Alan Holden, Chair. This North Carolina native spent his entire career as an educator, serving as a teacher, coach, Assistant Principal, and Principal spanning more than 30 years. He earned his Ed.D Degree in Educational Leadership from Wingate University. Most recently, Dr. Hessman served as Principal of Belville Elementary School, and we could not be more excited to welcome him to BCC.
