It’s , and today we’re highlighting a partnership that means so much to Brunswick County Schools. 💚💛

The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office does far more than help keep our students, staff and schools safe. Our School Resource Officers build relationships, mentor students and help teach important life skills that reach well beyond the classroom.

We are fortunate to have such a strong relationship with our Sheriff’s Office and a team that truly sees itself as part of our school communities.

Thank you to Sheriff Brian Chism for his leadership, to all of our SROs who serve our schools each day, and to the leadership of the SRO Division for their continued support of BCS.

And a special thank you to TK Nowell, Holly Turner and Ashley Ward, who serve as incredible liaisons between our schools and the Sheriff’s Office. We could not ask for better partners.

Not every school system has a relationship like this with local law enforcement, and it is something we never take for granted.

What a way to start the school year! 💚💛

Yesterday, our students and staff kicked off the first day of school across Brunswick County Schools, and it was great to see our hallways, classrooms and campuses full of energy again.

From first day smiles to reconnecting with friends and teachers, Day 1 was a good one!

Here are just a few pictures from schools across the county as we welcomed everyone back for the 2026-27 school year.

☀️ 1,035,757 MEALS SERVED! ☀️

That’s more than one million meals served through Brunswick County Schools Child Nutrition’s Summer Meals Program this summer!

Behind that number are countless hours of planning, preparing, packing and serving meals to children across Brunswick County.

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible Child Nutrition team for showing up all summer long and making sure our students and community were fed. 1,035,757 meals is something worth celebrating! 💚💛
