Today is a great day to organize our thoughts for the upcoming weeks, so we wanted to make sure we brought you all along with us!

📚 Scholastic Book Fair & Fall Festival: Our Scholastic homepage is now open! Set up your Stingray’s eWallet and easily add funds or make a donation here:

👾 Feed the Monster: Don't forget to bring in candy donations to feed our monster for the Fall Festival! There is a link on Givebacks for candy donations specifically. If you don't have time to shop we will shop for you! 🍬

🎃 Pumpkin Contest (Oct 20): Bring pumpkins and any unpaid entry fees on Tuesday! PTA will collect them for display. Voting runs Oct 20–30.

👻 Boo Grams (Going home this week): Students can write notes to friends, and we’ll deliver them with a candy treat on Oct 30!

Stingray families, the Book Fair is coming in less than a month! 🎉 Here are all the details you need to know.

💳 E-Wallets
Loading up your child's e-wallet is quick and easy—just follow the link on our webpage to add funds. We strongly prefer e-wallets because they help cut down on lost cash. Losing money happens so easily at school, so using an e-wallet allows your child to come in and shop stress-free without any worry of misplacing their funds!

📚 Donate to Support Our Students
The donation option on our homepage is a fantastic way to give back to our school through books. Oftentimes, children come in to shop and fall just a little short of their total due to sales tax. This bucket of money also helps cover those remaining balances for students who come up short, and it allows us to provide books to students who might not get them otherwise!

🍂 Fall in Love with Reading with us at the Fall Festival! 🍂

📚We cannot wait to see everyone at the festival with us next month! Along with all the fun games and activities the school will be organizing, our PTA will be hosting our annual Fall Book Fair that entire week with after school hours during the festival! It's the perfect time to browse for a new book and further instill that love of reading with your kiddos.

🧁Bake Sale 🧁
Be sure to stop by our bake sale table filled with freshly baked goodies for a nice snack as you play games together!

✨️Fairy Hair ✨️
Our wonderful friends over at Pretty Plum Beauty will be doing fairy hair from a minimum of 2 strands up to 10 strands maximum. The best part? You can pre-pay for your child to get theirs done on our Givebacks site that is linked below and then save yourself some time on the night of the festival!

Ice cream, hot cocoa, dirty sodas, hot dogs, funnel cakes, and more! We have a variety of food trucks coming, so bring your appetite and grab a delicious bite for dinner while you are here!

🍬Candy Monster🍫 Remember our super cool candy monster? Well, THIS is what he has been collecting for! He is very very very hungry right now so please remember you have until November 12th to bring in candy and FEED THAT MONSTER! 🍭

Saying "thank you" hardly feels like enough. We want to send a massive, heartfelt thank you to Creative Hands Occupational Therapy, Inc. for their generous sponsorship of Virginia Williamson Elementary School 🩵💜

Not only do they support our school community as a wonderful partner, but they also hold an extra-special place in our hearts. Many of our very own students visit their clinic for occupational therapy, where they work hard, build confidence, and receive such caring, dedicated support every single day.
When a local business pours back into the same children they help outside of school walls, it creates a true village.

🎪 Child Nutrition School Spotlight: Virginia Williamson Elementary! 🌟

Today we're shining the spotlight on our Virginia Williamson Elementary Child Nutrition Team!

With 632 students enrolled, this team serves an average of 329 breakfasts and 414 lunches each school day. That's approximately 743 student meals every day! 🍎🥛

More than half of Virginia Williamson's students start an average school day with breakfast from this team! 🌞 Then it’s time to turn around and prepare to serve more than 400 lunches.

❤️ Help us give a big shout-out to our Virginia Williamson Elementary Child Nutrition Team for all they do!

🎃 VWES families—it’s time to get crafty! 🎃

Calling all our amazing Pre-K through 5th-grade students! Show us your creative skills and get as wild, silly, or magical with your design as you want. Our VWES PTA Pumpkin Decorating Contest is officially open!

Contest Detail Information 🎃

▪️Who Can Enter: All VWES Students (Pre-K to 5th Grade)

▪️Entry Fee: $3 Cash (due at drop-off)

▪️Guidelines: Must be kid-friendly and school-appropriate (no gore, violence, or scary themes!)

▪️Drop-Off Date: Tuesday, October 20th

▪️Drop-Off Time: 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM (First thing in the morning!)

▪️Drop-Off Location: The VWES Front Office

▪️Voting Period: 10 Days total: 10/20 - 10/30

✅ The Rules are Simple:
🎃1. Create It: Grab a pumpkin of any size. Decorate it using paint, markers, fabric, or any craft supply you choose! Keep it fun, happy, or gently spooky—nothing too scary, please!

🎃2. Label It: Make sure your student's first and last name, as well as grade level are attached securely to the pumpkin. The flyer slip itself is not required, any paper with your child's information will be fine.

🎃3. Bring It: Bring your masterpiece and the $3 cash entry fee to the front office during the morning drop-off window on October 20th!

🗳️ How to Vote:
💥• Online: Follow our VWES PTA page and simply click the "Like" button on your favorite pumpkin photo!

💥• In Person: Students can also vote in person at school during designated hours.

💥• Voting runs for 10 full days from 10/20 - 10/30!

🏆 Prizes will be awarded to the TOP 3 PUMPKINS with the most creative, school-friendly designs!
