📚✏️ Diary of a Wimpy Kid fans, this one’s for YOU! 🤩

Some of our biggest Diary of a Wimpy Kid fans had an exciting opportunity to attend a virtual author event with Jeff Kinney! Our students had a blast guessing the characters he drew, answering trivia questions, and listening to an exclusive excerpt from his newest book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Fight or Flight, coming out next week!

What a fun way to celebrate a love of reading and connect with one of their favorite authors! ❤️📚

💬📚 Learning Through Discussion!

Ms. Sierpina’s 5th Grade Honors Class participated in their very first Socratic Seminar, and they loved it! 🎉

Inspired by Socrates’ belief that we learn best by asking questions and sharing our thinking, students engaged in a student-led, collaborative discussion about a text. Along the way, they practiced active listening, observed and reflected on one another’s discussion behaviors, and provided thoughtful peer feedback.

We love seeing our Crusaders strengthen their critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills while learning from one another!

We’re celebrating our JES Crusaders who achieved perfect attendance during the first quarter! Showing up every day means more opportunities to learn, grow, build friendships, and be part of our school community.

We are so proud of these students for making every school day count! Keep up the amazing work, Crusaders!
