We’re excited to have George Jackson at West Marin Fiddle Camp this summer teaching fiddle 🎻🎵.

George Jackson is a Nashville-based fiddle player and the 2022 IBMA Instrumentalist Of The Year Momentum Award Winner, who performs as a band leader and fiddler for hire with artists such as The Jacob Jolliff Band, Jake Blount, Tall Poppy String Band, The Local Trio, Front Country, Peter Rowan, Missy Raines, Charm City Junction and others. Born in New Zealand, George grew up in a musical family and first heard bluegrass music around the age of 14, immediately falling in love with the style he started trying to work out how to play it from recordings and from mentors in New Zealand.

We’re excited to welcome Duncan Wickel to West Marin Fiddlecamp to teach fiddle and cello! 🎻🎶

Duncan is an award-winning bowed-string instrumentalist, world class musician, singer, writer, and inventor. Along with his band, Rising Appalachia, he was featured on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series. He has toured with major folk artists including IBMA guitarist of the year Molly Tuttle, Grammy nominees The Duhks, The Wood Brothers, Irish music greats John Doyle and Karan Casey, Ruth Moody, The Stash! Band, and many others.He has performed and taught in over 22 countries spanning every continent on earth that is normally inhabited by humans (sorry, Antarctica).

We’re so excited to have Mason Via joining us at West Marin Fiddle Camp this summer, teaching guitar, mandolin, and voice! 🎶

It took just a few short years for Mason to become one of the newest leaders of modern-day American roots music. He’s toured the world as a member of Old Crow Medicine Show, earned a Grammy nomination for their chart-topping album Jubilee, and contributed songs to Grammy-winning and nominated records by Molly Tuttle and Del McCoury Band. A naturally gifted singer and flatpicker, Mason grew up in the mountains of Virginia and North Carolina, surrounded by bluegrass, fiddle conventions, and picking parties. 🎻🪕
