This day highlights the importance of ensuring that all students achieve high academic standards and quality of life, receiving the quality services they need along the way.

Did You Know?
That Idaho SESTA has an amazing team! We asked Brenda Janot (pictured below) a couple questions about the project and we're excited to share her answers with you:

How long have you worked at the center / on your project?

I have worked for the project since August, 2015.

What has been your favorite part of your day?

The favorite part of my day is providing direct and indirect services for the consumers we serve. When I find an assistive technology solution or application that opens up possibilities for them- well this is what totally makes me day and makes me smile 😊

Favorite part of the year?

My favorite part of the year is our annual Tools for Life Conference! Not only do I get to meet some amazing students and professionals, there is always an amazing story that develops. It is also a time where our entire team is together and some of the genuinely nicest people on the planet.

What’s something you want people to know about your project?

Our project has a broad range of services from the National Deaf-Blind Project to Alternative Financing to acquire a low-interest loan to acquire assistive technology. We are a one-stop shop of AT services. I am so proud to be a part of this special team.

You can "Meet the Team" and get contact information at idahosesta.org/About-Us

The Idaho Project for Children and Youth with Deaf Blindness has released a new podcast series. The goal of this project is to provide training and consultation to service providers and families of children and young adults who have combined vision and hearing loss.

The series features compelling discussions with some of the best-known experts in the field of deaf-blindness. It’s hosted by Dr Robin Greenfield, who interviews a different expert in each episode. With three episodes already released, the Dr Greenfield has conversed with such notable names as David Brown, Maurice Belote and Tanni Anthony.

Listeners are treated to conversations ranging from 30 to 45 minutes in which experts discuss their history in the field of deaf-blindness while sharing the experiences, training and knowledge they have accumulated through the years.

“This series is really fun to listen to as well as a treasure trove of information from some of the most talented people in the field of severe disabilities and deaf-blindness,” said Dr Greenfield.

The first three episodes are live now with new episodes coming in October and December.
