🚸 Children between the ages of 3 and 5 who have been identified with a disability and who require special education and related services, receive Early Childhood special education services. Because quality services and programming are critical for successful early intervention, IEP teams must gather information specific to three outcome areas:
1️⃣ Child has positive social-emotional skills
2️⃣ Child acquires and uses knowledge and skills
3️⃣ Child uses appropriate behaviors to meet their needs

📢 Idaho SESTA Training: Essential Components of the IEP
Idaho SESTA is hosting a statewide training tour this fall focused on the Essential Components of the IEP. This comprehensive training is specifically designed for new special education teachers, related service providers, special education directors, teachers working under alternative authorizations, and experienced professionals who are new to Idaho.

Mentor teachers are highly encouraged to attend alongside their new special education staff to foster a shared, collaborative learning experience.

What Participants Will Learn:
🤝 Collaborative IEP Teams: Understand how to build a collaborative team by including family and student voice, using data to make shared decisions, and focusing on supports that improve student outcomes.

📋 Meaningful IEP Design: Learn to design clear, meaningful IEPs using PLAAFP data to create goals and services that directly meet student needs.

🛠️ Practical Tool Implementation: Utilize tools to effectively evaluate, implement, maintain, and amend the IEP based on student progress and team decisions.
