The Idaho Project for Children and Youth with Deaf Blindness has released a new podcast series. The goal of this project is to provide training and consultation to service providers and families of children and young adults who have combined vision and hearing loss.

The series features compelling discussions with some of the best-known experts in the field of deaf-blindness. It’s hosted by Dr Robin Greenfield, who interviews a different expert in each episode. With three episodes already released, the Dr Greenfield has conversed with such notable names as David Brown, Maurice Belote and Tanni Anthony.

Listeners are treated to conversations ranging from 30 to 45 minutes in which experts discuss their history in the field of deaf-blindness while sharing the experiences, training and knowledge they have accumulated through the years.

“This series is really fun to listen to as well as a treasure trove of information from some of the most talented people in the field of severe disabilities and deaf-blindness,” said Dr Greenfield.

The first three episodes are live now with new episodes coming in October and December.

Consent for Assessment Quick Guide promo video

We know you all love a good Quick Guide--Check out the new Consent for Assessment Quick Guide on the ITC! https://idahotc.com/Resources/View/ID/820

When a team seeks Consent for Assessment, they are asking for written, informed consent to conduct assessments as part of an evaluation or reevaluation. Consent for Assessment must always be sought when an evaluation team is administering one or more new assessments. However, some types of information or situations do not require consent. This Quick Guide will answer the following questions:
- When is Consent for Assessment required and not required?
- When do we document Internal Assessment or External Documentation?
- What is existing information or existing data?
- Does Medicaid have Consent for Assessment requirements?
