In total we fixed and gave away 652 bikes, and we will be doing our darnedest to deliver the remaining 48 bicycles before Christmas. "Heck yah and Holy cow!"
Based on number of kids, volunteer hours, community support and any other possible metric we can think of... this was by far the biggest giveaway in our 13 year history. The impact, the freedom, and the community connection created on Saturday is just the beginning for these kids. We can't way to see where the journey takes them.
Special thanks to the 300 volunteers who helped us make it happen, community members who donated bikes, coats, hats, food, and to those who "adopted dream bikes" for children to cover costs for lights and locks for every child we served.
Along with individual volunteers and donors, we could not pull off such a successful event without help from businesses, foundations and the schools and nonprofits who referred kids to us. THANK YOU so much for stepping up and going the extra mile to make this transformative day possible.

PODS donated 8 containers to help store all 600+ Dream Bikes for BBP's Holiday Kids Bike Giveaway! One small problem. The containers are about 200 yards from BBP, and we need to get all 600+ back to BBP before Friday afternoon.
One big solution! Verdant Fitness will be holding their 11am and noon WODs (Workout of the Day) at BBP for the Great Holiday Bicycle Move. Verdant's community-minded crossfit-ers will converge to move over 12,000lbs of steel (in the form of kids bikes) from the containers back to BBP!

We tackled handstand walks in our gymnastics class today in hi or of the occasion!
A good gym cairn makes itself. You can’t force a gym cairn. You need the right amount of random gym paraphernalia, some good local fruit and/or vegetables and at least one or two things that if broken would really cause some concern.
The gym cairn cannot be created without a certain level of athlete. They need to be a beverage goblin and they need to be fairly careless with their own things enough to the point that they leave a lot of junk around. They also need to be social enough to not witness or be aware of the gym cairn creation.
A few days ago we canceled our last classes of the day to get all our coaches some training. We’ve got a new group of coaches in training and it’s always awesome to watch them flourish when put under the spotlight. I am always grateful to have a group that’s coachable and willing to learn. Thanks to our communities for being gracious with the gym closures and always being understanding of our demand for excellence.

Coach is having another awesome adventure.
Every year Big Fish Foundation brings in Veterans across each branch of service and teams them up with athletes and celebrities to take on a 30 hour ‘ordeal’ together. During the 30-hour event teams perform tasks, physical challenges, experiencing environmental and psychological stresses together.
He participated in this event in 2022 and placed first in the veterans category. This year, he has been asked to fill a last-minute cancellation in the celebrity category. I’ll be paired with a veteran, working through the event in partnership together as a team.
Marshall believes in the Big Fish Foundation’s mission to positively impact Veteran’s lives and prevent Veteran su***de.

We get a lot of transplant members here in Boise! It’s a cool opportunity to work with athletes coming from other gyms and help them develop! Brandon came to us from DC and had been a staple in our evening classes and barbell classes. His technique is top notch and it’s been exciting to see him get super fit!!

This 2023 Open was so much fun. It was a great series of tests and it is awesome to see the new wrinkles and standards that come out each year.

We had 27 people qualify for the next stage of the Open this year. 24 qualified for the Open quarterfinals and 3 qualified for the AGOQ. Each year more and more people qualify for the next stage. Their hard work and dedication is really incredible and the invite to the next stage is a true badge of honor. Congratulations to all these folks for their accomplishments.
Game Night last Saturday night was awesome.
We had about 30 people show up. We had and played some epic games of twister, spike ball, and Kan Jam.

Our intramural CrossFit Open Competition has been pretty epic this year.
We started with four teams spread across both gyms. Each team had two weeks to come out on top. The top two teams absorbed the bottom two teams. And now it all comes down to this last workout!
