[04/01/21]   Whew! What a year it's been. Wingtip has weathered the storm and we're finally thinking about Leftovers again. As in Leftovers X! Yup, can you imagine? Ten years of Leftovers coming up soon. Stay tuned.

[09/16/20]   Hey Wingtip Fans! I know. It' been a while. A good long while and we miss all of you. We are temporarily closed until we feel comfortable sharing our space. And we've put our beloved LEFTOVERS print exchange on hold until we can give our tenth year of delicious Leftovers all the luscious attention they deserve. Stay safe and stay tuned! We haven't forgotten you!

Hey printmakers! We haven't fallen off the face of the earth, we've just fallen in line with social distancing. For those of you lovers of Leftovers, don't worry, we're just taking our time. It'll be a feast to outdo Renaissance Chef Bartolomeo Scappi. Perfect for our delicious print exchange's 10th year. Stay tuned!

[02/25/20]   Hey all you lovers of Leftovers! We are a wee bit behind this year but that doesn't mean we aren't going to miss a chance to announce Leftovers X. Yes, that's Leftovers TEN! 10! That means we have 9 years of Leftovers behind us and Leftovers Ten is coming. So stay tuned. And spread the Leftovers Love by spreading the word.

Let’s hear it for Speedball!

Today, we bring you the many faces of Jay Ryan….

Most of you probably know Jay as a preeminent screen printer and gig poster artist, and we do too! But as of 2019, he’s now a lot more than the guy behind many (many, many) prints that fill the offices here at Speedball—he’s jumped on board for not one but TWO of our latest programs with his involvement in the Speedball Demo Artist Program and the Speedball Print Posse. Yes, we are lucky, lucky folks.

“I’ve used Speedball Acrylic Inks almost exclusively since 1995, and wanted to join the Posse as soon as I heard about it. I know that if my buddies Tuffy, Martin, Bryn, AndyMac, and Sean are on the team, I want IN. In all my travels to speak at universities around the country, I specify Speedball Inks for the workshops I run, because they’re bold in color, non-toxic, they mix beautifully, and they’re a great value and readily available at all sorts of art supply retailers. I’ve used them on concert posters for everyone from Edie Brickell to the Melvins, Fugazi to Gloria Estefan, My Morning Jacket and Pearl Jam and Andrew Bird. I think this medium should be accessible to everyone, and I like telling the story of how I was taught screen printing by master printer Steve Walters, who taught himself to print record covers using a Speedball all-in-one screen printing kit in the early 1990s.”

Jay will be bringing a unique formulation of his making to the Speedball Acrylic Screen Printing Ink line for the Print Posse with a limited edition color, Bird Machine Black. Stay tuned here and our site to learn more about how to get your hands on your own jar of that special sauce and see a demonstration of Jay's, and head over to to see all of Jay’s works!

It’s First Thursday and Wingtip has the distinction of exhibiting our longest monotype ever! Over 200 participants created a 150’ paper river that’s as long as the Hoff Building is tall. Swing by The Idaho History Museum between 5-7 and check out our Boise Arts and History Funded Print Boise River.

We’ve been installing our 150’ Print Boise River on the floor of the Idaho Room at Idaho History Museum today for First Thursday. It’s 3 times longer than the room and jam-packed with prints from over 200 participants,
- so we adapted with some rapids and waves! See you tomorrow from 5-7 pm. #boiart, #ahgrant

Love: It's what makes a Paper River. Join us for Wingtip's PRINT BOISE RIVER exhibition at Idaho State Museum on Thursday, August 1 from 5-7. Thank you Boise City Department of Arts and History and Katarzyna Cepek for the great photos! #ahgrant, #boiart

Print Boise River. It's really quite simple:
1. Make a stamp
2. Stick it to a flip flop
3. Step into the ink
4. Step into the river

After a wonderful trip to Italy to spend time at Dedalo Printmaking Center in Abruzzo learning etching and aquatint with nitric, watercolor monotype and brushing up on collagraph, will leave tomorrow from Rome. Had a great visit at the Archivo Della Stamperia and couldn't resist taking a photo of this handle on a press wheel. Home soon to prepare our Print Boise River on July 13.

We think we've found the perfect location and steamroller for our next big event. Pack your bags, tools and block and head to the Adriatic coast of Abruzzo. It could happen.

Another great day of Print Boise River at the Library! at Bown Crossing where even the teeniest and tiniest of feet too small to fit in a flip flop will find a way to be a printmaker!

What's this? One thousand four hundred and thirty six Leftovers IX prints on their way to our 128 participants. Thanks to our collating team, Lisa Flowers Ross, Cassidy Gillman, Katarzyna Cepek, Holly Hudson, Laurel MacDonald, Missy Cory and Amelia Bader. Whew!
