Venskabđ¤
The Danish word for friendship.
Some of childhoodâs most meaningful moments happen through connection. Whether itâs sharing a toy, sitting side by side, or laughing together during play, friendships help children build confidence, empathy, and a sense of belonging.
At Hygge Kinder House, we create spaces where these relationships can grow naturally through play, curiosity, and everyday moments. đżâ¨

Meet Katie, the other founder of Hygge Kinder House! đ
Katieâs journey to creating Hygge started long before opening our doors. As a mom of three, she knows how overwhelming it can be to search for childcare that feels safe, nurturing, and truly like a home away from home. After years of navigating different childcare arrangements and seeing other families with the same struggles, she knew there had to be another way!
Together Katie and Taylor built Hygge Kinder House with one goal in mind: creating a place where children feel loved, supported, and at home while parents feel confident leaving the in trusted hands.âď¸
Tell us in the comments, what was most important to you when choosing childcare for your family?

Meet Taylor, one of the founders of Hygge Kinder House!đ¤
Like many parents, Taylor remembers the stress of searching for childcare that truly felt right. After experiencing firsthand how life changing it can be to find a place where children are seen, safe, and loved, she set out to help create that feeling for other families. Hygge Kinder House was built from a simple belief, that finding childcare shouldnât be so hard!

Thereâs been so much talk and vitriol in our community about Pride and the Pride flag lately. I wanted to take a minute to talk about how deeply personal this is for us at Hygge. When I (Katie) enrolled my youngest in daycare I could pass, initially. We just looked like a two household family, alternating weeks. Then my partner (Taylor) enrolled her kids and the dynamic changed. We were quiet about it but small children love to talk about their families and I knew it was a matter of time before the staff figured out we were a q***r family. It made me incredibly anxious, would they not be as kind and welcoming to the kids and to us as they had been? When you drop your kids off at daycare you are dropping off your heart, your whole world. The staff did figure it out, but we also started to notice a small pride flag pop up in the administratorâs office. Two of our three kidâs were in a class together and suddenly their teacher had a pride pin on her lanyard and a pride flag in her room. And it felt like we could breathe. Our family was seen, loved and our kids were cared for. Sometimes those tiny symbols mean absolutely everything and at Hygge we want to ensure that every family feels at ease dropping off their loved little ones, no matter what their background or family or beliefs are. Happy Pride everyone!
