🟪🟪 Meet Our Bros 🟪🟪
Our Brother: #48 Ivan “Future” Cortez
Major: Construction Management in fourth year
Hobbies: One of my hobbies including working out as it’s a huge part of my life. I have also started picking up reading on my free time. Another is music, I have a huge mix of music and I don’t mind listing to new types. I am also a huge player on Clash of Clans.
Why did you join SLB? I joined for the opportunities that being part of a fraternity had to offer. I knew that this will open many doors in the future as an alumni. Especially for the brotherhood, seeing the many bros interact with one another when I was in my first semester here at Boise State University. Seeing how close they were was something I wanted as well, as the saying goes a family away from home.
Future Goals: Since I graduate next fall, I plan to stay here in the valley for a bit longer and build up my credentials. I would also like to work in my degree and see how far I can grow.
🟪🟪Meet our Brothers🟪🟪
Our brother: Oscar “Scorpion” Betancourt
Major: Mechanical Engineering in his second year
Hobbies: My hobbies are drawing, listening to music, basketball, and gaming. Enjoy trying new things and I’m always ready to learn new things.
Reason why I joined SLB: The reason why I joined SLB was for the brotherhood and community service. Having people to rely on and that have your back. They’re always trying to push you to good and your best. I always wanted to give back to my community and that caught my eye with SLB.
Future Goals: I plan on graduating with my mechanical engineering degree and see what doors open for me. Continue to work hard until I achieve financial freedom and being able to assist those in need.
🟪🟪Meet our brothers!🟪🟪
In the next couple of weeks we will be introducing our brothers from our chapter!
Our Brother: Edgar “Dreamer” Perez
Major: Mechanical Engineering in his third year.
Hobbies: My hobbies are running, boxing, lifting, cars, motorcycles, and exploring the outdoors. There is so much to experience in life and I still want to do many more things but I have been very fortunate to have been able to get into all these different things thus far.
The reason I joined SLB:
Initially because of the brotherhood. That is what first caught my eye about meeting the brothers here at Boise State my first semester. At that time, I was in a new place without any friends and it was difficult to find people with similar values or people I felt could understand me. When I met the brothers here, they showed me what it was like to not only have a friend but a brother, someone you can count on, and even better, someone who pushes you to be your best, keeps you in check, and holds you to a high standard. The brothers of SLB have helped me become the best version of myself and have inspired me to continue pushing to find more.
Future goals: My goals for the future include graduating from school with an engineering degree, and then working in that industry. I am passionate about cars and so automotive engineering would be awesome, but I am also interested in all other kinds of engineering. I have other more personal goals and dreams, but it all boils down to just being the absolute best that I can be, and hopefully inspiring and uplifting others to do the same.
